As you know I do the top 10 of a particular year in the first hour of my nightshift, and one of the years for this week is 1984. The problem being, at number 7 is the convicted Paedophile Gary Glitter with Another Rock and Roll Christmas.
I have heard other presenters playing it, but I know at the last place I worked at, it wasn't allowed!
Am I OK to play this song at the appropriate time? Just thought I'd better ask so I don't upset anyone!

I will leave it to the Reach management to give you the official reply.
But from a personnel point of view, I don't feel comfortable giving a convicted Paedophile airtime.
As you may know, I do a chart from the 70's, 80's or 90's in the middle of my Sunday show.
I had a similar predicament several months ago when my featured chart included Rolf Harris.
So I did what the BBC do, and mentioned the name of the song and artist, without expanding on why I wasn't
playing it. Everyone knows why, so I don't need to say why.
Again this is just my point of view, others may disagree.
BTW, I enjoy your show when I get the chance to listen
All the best
