Web Player Thought
Hi guys,
One of the biggest support issues I've had over at Radio Tamworth is listeners getting -very- confused about having to press play once they open the player (You think it'd be obvious...).
In RT's case, the audio isn't an HTTPS feed, so current browser security settings block autoplay anyway. However, Reach does have a secure audio feed, so it could autoplay if the autoplay param was added to the audio tag in the player's code.
It may be an active choice to not have it auto play, but I wanted to flag it, as I say because of experience with confusion I've seen myself in recent months!

You are correct, we do have an SSL stream and non SSL now so we could do the Autoplay however we did disable this - mainly because it's quite irritating if you just want to message the presenter but now we have added that option on the main page, this might not be such an issue now!
Also, we notice that the play option is slightly hidden depending on the background image - this is due to change soon!

Hello Ross, I'm afraid this isn't technically possible right now due to the way the system interacts with the recording system (or lack of interaction!).Ross Patzelt wrote: ↑08 Jun 2020, 17:56Hi please dont think i am being picky and just an idea but is there a way to play the whole show on replay rather than having to manually click hour 2?
It's on our wishlist but not a quick fix!

Hi Ross, I was originally there however when you looked on a tablet, there isn't as much space as it looks and then looked squished. Se we put it under the scheduleRoss Patzelt wrote: ↑08 Jun 2020, 19:30cool thanks could the replay button be moved to the top with the others so its easy for people to find? there is space for it

I think there's potentially a middle ground here - although it's more for identification rather than functionality.Ross Patzelt wrote: ↑08 Jun 2020, 19:30cool thanks could the replay button be moved to the top with the others so its easy for people to find? there is space for it
The Replay of shows can actually be done directly from the Replay menus and/or the Schedule menu. One of reason for having both is to help people understand the feature is available. One simple tweak where we have the text
might be to put a link there, so it links to the Replay section. Although you don't actually need to go to this page to do replay, it may draw people's attention more that it exists (via the Schedule page). Or maybe that's not needed!"You can scroll back 2 weeks to listen again or forward to see what is coming up."

Yes you're right the HTTPS will allow it to work on browsers autoplay, however it still prevents it working on IOS devices (they require a user action to start the stream), so I decided to make it require action to play when opening to allow it to be consistent across all devices (better that than accidentally clicking and using up bandwidth if of the move, which is why I think iOS restricts it) - also seems to be the way most other radio station web players seem to be

Cheers,
Chris

Volume Control On Web Player
There doesn't seem to be a volume control on the pop out player, would there be any room to implement a volume slider, I play Reach when I'm gaming and it would be nice to set the level on the mixer and control the volume using the Reach player. Just a thought
