Just as they did in the West Midlands, Bauer plan to put Greatest Hits Radio on FM in London, replacing Absolute on 105.8 subject to OFCOM saying yes which is almost guaranteed, in the West Midlands it also used to be on 105.2. It will relegate Absolute to AM & DAB in the capital as it already has in the West Midlands, ever since Virgin Radio wanted to go national on FM and managed to get an FM license in just London the station has been on the 105.8 frequency in the capital it has until now remained there in the same station rebranded as Absolute. ... -with-ghr/

In another small change, Country Hits Radio will be rebranded to Absolute Country. Global offer Smooth Country.

105.2 history

Rather than make another thread, Bauer have now announced closure for some AM transmitters such as 999AM (former Rock FM2) & 1152 AM (former Key 2) in the North and some others such as 1161 AM (former Viking 2), in Leeds it's fairly ridiculous now, they've put GHR on 96.3 in place of Radio Aire and left on 828 AM carrying the same station!, I think they put Magic on 1161, wondered why they didn't do that with 828 as soon as GHR came to 96.3, but of course they're all going to end up closing anyway. 1548 AM the former City Talk frequency was the first to go last year.
