Troubleshoot: Installing Config File into Basic Broadcaster (Windows)

We have heard reports that some users are having trouble installing the config file into the basic broadcaster.

Within the next 5-7 days we intend to update the default software to include the configuration files, however until that is complete we have built a simple 'manual entry' work around.

will i be able to use this app to broadcast live through butt instead of using itunes or spotify

also .. i did a test on butt and tried to play it back and it did not work..in the box it kept saying something about a password

Hi Phil, I haven't used VitualDJ myself, but i've done a quick google and seen it does have a broadcast encoder built in, so YES, you will be able to use JUST this software, and you don't need anything else. Try and find this window:

So if you try and connect and it's not 30 minutes before your show, you will get a UserName & Password error. BUT if you're getting this error back, assuming your usr/pass are correct, it looks like it's connecting properly!

for me to use this platform i will have to pay upfront to virtual DJ.
But i will be broadcasting using my mixer as a built in audio
will i be able to use Nicecast ?

Yes you can use ANY Icecast encoder with Reach OnAir now. Nicecast did close support for this a long time ago but if it still opens on your Mac, it should work!

Oh brilliant.. yes it still opens ...will i be able to do live broadcast also on nice cast?

i have put into all the details into nice cast , but when i select broadcast it says ..error connecting
is the address the same..as this is what i have 217.28.20.20 and the mount will always show as this /751600..
is there also an account name ...thank you
